Cloud Integration & Migration

We plan and run cloud moves with minimal disruption, so you gain scalability, resilience and tighter control of costs.

What we offer

  • 01Cloud readiness assessments

A clear view of your estate, risks, costs and migration path.

  • 02Migration to AWS, Azure & GCP

Phased, tested migrations with rollback plans at every step.

  • 03Hybrid cloud

On-premise and cloud working together, securely and seamlessly.

  • 04Serverless architecture

Pay-per-use applications that scale automatically with demand.

The South African context

Why it matters here

The major cloud providers now run data centres in South Africa, which changes the conversation about latency, data residency and regulation. A well-planned move takes advantage of that.

  • Local cloud regions are here

AWS operates a region in Cape Town, and Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud operate regions in Johannesburg. Workloads can run close to your users, with data kept in the country where that matters.

  • Regulators expect a plan

POPIA section 72 governs sending personal information across borders. Banks must meet Prudential Authority Directive D3/2018 on cloud and data offshoring, and financial institutions now have the Joint Standard on cybersecurity and cyber resilience.

  • Resilience is not optional

Power and connectivity interruptions have made on-premise hardware a business risk. Cloud architecture with backups, multiple availability zones and tested recovery keeps services running.

Where it fits

Use cases across South African industries

  • Financial services

Regulator-ready cloud landing zones, core workload migration and disaster recovery.

  • Public sector

Hybrid platforms that keep sensitive data local while modernising citizen services.

  • Healthcare

Secure hosting for patient systems with encryption, backups and access control.

  • Retail

Elastic e-commerce platforms that scale for Black Friday and festive season peaks.

Built for South African conditions

  • Data residency planned per workload, using South African regions where needed
  • POPIA cross-border transfer assessment and operator agreements
  • Evidence packs for Directive D3/2018 and Joint Standard reviews
  • Costs modelled in rand, with budgets and alerts
  • Backup, multi-zone design and tested disaster recovery

What you gain

  • Scale on demand

Capacity that grows and shrinks with your business.

  • Lower running costs

Pay for what you use, with clear cost visibility.

  • Greater resilience

Built-in backup, recovery and high availability.

FAQs

Questions we often hear

Can our data stay in South Africa?

Yes. AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud all have South African regions. We map which data must stay local and design the architecture around that — some services are only offered in overseas regions, so we flag those early.

Which cloud provider should we choose?

It depends on your existing systems, skills, licensing and regulatory needs. We are provider-neutral: the readiness assessment compares options on cost, risk and fit before you commit.

Will moving to the cloud save us money?

Often, but not automatically. Savings come from right-sizing, switching off what you do not use and paying for capacity only when you need it. We model costs before migration and put monitoring in place after.

How do you avoid downtime during migration?

We migrate in phases, test each step in parallel with the existing system, and keep a rollback plan ready, so cut-overs happen at planned, low-impact times.
